Wastewater Treatment
There are pollutants present in wastewater. The removal of these pollutants are categorized as biological, chemical, physical and energetic. Test have been developed to measure the suitability of wastewater to be released back to the environment. The State and Federal governments have developed guidelines for monitoring wastewater for human protection as well as environmental. Testing is relatively low in cost.
Because water can appear clear and pure, test must be conducted to look for indicator organisms. Effluent is the final product of all wastewater treatment and this is what is tested. The Town of Crawford meets or exceeds all requirements State and Federal.
